The Grand Hotel Villa Politi was constructed in 1862 within a naturally occurring amphitheatre on the coastal cliff of the beautiful and historical Sicilian town of Siracusa. Within the amphitheatre and below our unique and characteristic hotel resort are the Latomia dei Cappuccini, a network of caves carved out of the rock face and used to hold prisoners following Siracusa’s victory over Athens in 413 BC.
