The Grand Hotel Villa Politi is located at Via Maria Politi Laudien 2, on the evocative Latomie dei Cappuccini, in the heart of Syracuse.
Just 100 metres from the property lies a charming cycle path of approximately 7 km, ideal for jogging or a leisurely walk, accompanied by the sound of sea waves breaking against the rocks.
In the Tyche district, the ancient rocky quarries have withstood the passage of time, having served various social purposes: in the 6th century BC, the Latomie were a necropolis; later, an open-air prison for the Athenians during the Peloponnesian War; and a place of encampment during the siege of Syracuse. At the end of the 16th century, the Latomie were converted into a convent for the Capuchin friars.
Today, the site is home to a lush green area and a large stone theatre, visible from the hotel rooms and from the Terrazza delle Latomie.
Within this prestigious historical and archaeological setting lies the charm of the Grand Hotel Villa Politi, offering guests the opportunity to observe at close range the remains of ancient civilizations.
